GROUPS & ACTIVITIES
Just Peachy
Just Peachy peer support groups are safe space to connect with other parents. Held in our child friendly group room, this is a space where you can come and talk about the realities of life, how you are feeling and about your parenting journey. Sharing our experiences shows us we are not alone, helps us feel accepted and understood and gives support to each other.
We supply tea, coffee and snacks, all you need to bring is yourself. Your baby is most welcome to come with you.
Parenting After Loss
Our Parenting After Loss group, facilitated by Peach Tree and Red Nose Australia, is being held on the last Monday of every month at our Caboolture centre.
This group has been created from a place of lived experience, meaning that our facilitators have themselves lived through parenting after loss. You will be led by them in a safe, non-judgemental and caring environment. We’ve created a space where people going through this challenging and emotional experience can connect, cope and share together.
You are more than welcome to bring along a partner, support person and/or your children with you to this group (but please note, you only need to make one booking whether you’re bringing a support person and/or child or not).
Story Time
Story time is a great way to introduce our children to books. During this session your baby can explore stories, taking turns, being in a group and paying attention from the safety of your lap. Joining in the fun of stories can encourage development of early literacy and social skills in children.
Story Time is suitable for any parent, grandparent and carer, of children up to the age of 5.
Baby Song Time
Baby Song Time is a fun interactive session for parents/carers and their babies/toddlers. We sing through traditional nursery rhymes and old time favourites, as well as incorporating gentle movement and music. Babies love to hear us sing to them! Not only is it great for their development and social learning, but it can help create that lovely oxytocin hormone that can help alleviate anxiety and stress!
Baby Song Time is suitable for any parent, grandparent and carer, of children up to the age of 5.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic
If you go into the woods today…you can read a story, play a game and sing some songs at the Teddy Bear’s Picnic! A fun interactive session for you and your bub to spend some time together, for kids to socialise and have fun playing with their favourite stuffed animals. Don’t forget your teddy bear. Tea, coffee and morning tea provided.
Teddy Bear’s Picnic is suitable for any parent, grandparent and carer, of children up to the age of 5.
Yoga
Yoga and mindfulness have proven benefits to our overall health and wellbeing, not to mention it’s a wonderful reason to enjoy a morning out each week! Our Yoga sessions are run by Kylie from Humble Heart Yoga and aim to combine gentle movement with peaceful breathing. Bringing attention to our bodies and our breath is a great way to bring yourself to the present moment, gain awareness, and connect to both yourself and your child.
Please note: We welcome all parents who have children aged between 0 – 5 years. While we do at times have a Child Buddy to play with children, each session runs alongside the noise and distraction of the little ones.
Community Group
Our Community groups are casual get togethers to connect with other parents. These groups are open to any mother, father, parent, grandparent or carer who is caring for a child aged 0 – 5 years of age, and is seeking a friendly and engaging group to meet other parents and children.
Crafternoon
An afternoon just to enjoy craft! We spend so much time doing fun things for our kids that sometimes we need to take time for ourselves. Each week we do a different craft activity while bub socialises with the other kids. You are also welcome to bring your own project to work on eg crochet, cross stitch, scrapbooking.
Crafternoon is suitable for any parent, grandparent and carer, of children up to the age of 5.
ThursYay!
ThursYAY is a group where parents (and their little ones) can come together in a fun, relaxed, welcoming environment and anything goes really – the activities and chats are directed by YOU! Afternoon tea is provided as well as tea and coffee.
What might you take part in at a ThursYAY group? It may be:
- A dance party with the lights off
- Chair yoga
- Swapping book recommendations
- Blowing bubbles
- Playing board games
- Making balloon animals … or
- Something else amazing that you come up with as a group!
