CIRCLE OF SECURITY PARENTING™

The Circle of Security Parenting™ Program is a parent reflection program, based on decades of research, designed to enhance attachment security between caregivers and children. This reflection focused program is intended to help caregivers increase their awareness of their children’s needs and whether their own responses meet those needs. Each program is facilitated by a Circle of Security International (COSI) Registered Parent Educator and guided by DVD content, making for a relaxed, interactive workshop session for everyone. All of our facilitators are passionate about parent-infant attachment and the Circle of Security® framework, providing a safe and sensitive environment for parents and caregivers to comfortably explore their parenting experiences.

Who should attend?

  • Are you unsure how to respond to your child’s developing personality and/or behaviours?
  • Would you like to better understand your own – and your child’s – attachment needs?
  • Do you find your parenting “buttons” regularly being pushed?
  • Would you like to better relate to your child and support their independence?
  • Would you like to learn a language to make sense of what you are seeing?

What is "attachment"?

“The strength of an infant’s attachment relationship with you, as their parent or primary caretaker, impacts their future mental, physical, social, and emotional health.  “Secure attachment” is not founded solely on the quality of care or parental love, but on the nonverbal emotional communication between child or caregiver (ie. feeling “safe” and “secure”).  While it’s easiest to form secure attachment with an infant, it can be formed at any time or at any age.”      – Dr Jeanne Segal

Cost of workshops

Online registration:
Single – $180 / Additional person – $90

We offer a range of Circle of Security Parenting™ workshops on an ongoing basis, please register your interest via cosp@peachtree.org.au, noting your preferred workshop and one of our team members will get in touch with our next available dates. Attendees who complete our workshops qualify for a Certificate of Attendance.

Our 2-week (abbreviated) workshop is usually held between 10.00am to 3.00pm, over 2 separate days and is offered periodically.

Our 8-week workshop is held over 8 consecutive weeks and is offered cyclically from our three Parent Well-Being Centres.
